Anne Palmer

Before joining BFL as lead bookkeeper, Anne spent over six years serving as the executive assistant for a local IT company. She continues to manage the finances and administration of her own family business, EMP Auto LLC, giving her hands-on experience to share with fellow entrepreneurs. Her passion is to simplify bookkeeping tasks for organizations so they can focus on their core mission and better pursue their goals.

Anne also has an extensive background working in the non-profit sector, including fine arts as well as organizations that help women in crisis pregnancies, girls at risk, refugees, and families in the foster care system. In her spare time, she has many creative outlets including an active Etsy shop. Most importantly, Anne and her husband are raising their four beautiful children in Irving, Texas.

Dominic Dougherty, CFP® RICP®

Dominic is the founder and operator of BFL. He grew up in Irving, TX and attended the University of Dallas where he studied politics, history & economics. After a graduate degree in Budapest, Hungary, he married his college sweetheart, then began a career in financial services.

Seven years working at large national firms TD Ameritrade and Northwestern Mutual increasingly led Dominic to the realization that he could better serve clients through a small independent practice. This inspired the launch of Advising For Life in 2025, followed by Bookkeeping For Life in 2026.

He and Laura enjoy raising their two young children surrounded by a fantastic community of family and friends. Some of Dominic's favorite activities outside of financial planning include traveling to new places, playing sports or strategy games, and scheming up overly ambitious ideas to solve problems.
